Devon Orienteering

British Schools’ Orienteering Championships

Sandringham: Sunday 15th November 2015

"If you are going to travel all the way up to King's Lynn you need to make sure that you aren't wasting your time. Well the team of 31 young runners certainly weren't. With six individual podium places and every year team getting medals of one colour or another it was the best set of results for us yet.

Perhaps the big surprise were our year 7's who now have a lot to live up to. Result of the day probably Jack Forrest's win in year 8 although really pleased for Sam Peat in year 13. For the record:

Year 7's : National Champions Fraser Dixon 5th Otto Oldridge 10th George Oldridge 11th

Year 8's Runners Up (1 pt behind ) Jack Forrest 1st Finn Heywood 6th Finn Robinson 16th

Year 9's National Champions Obbie Fox 2nd Sam Johnson 3rd Will Matthews 6th

Year 10's National Champions Ben Stevens 2nd Hugo Twigger 7th Will Meadows 9th

Year 11 3rd place Harry Fox 6th James Condon 7th Harry Jamieson 8th

Year 12 National Champions James Dean 2nd Tom Snow 8th Dom Clarke 11th

Year 13 National Champions Sam Peat 2nd Sean Rowe 5th Jake Belsten 7th

3rd overall yet again but only two points behind the winners so its getting closer each year. Lots of work still to do."

(With thanks to Steve Perrelle for the report and to Ray Barnes for the photograph -and congratulations to the whole team on a maginficent achievement!)
