Devon Orienteering


British Schools Orienteering Championships 2018

Witton Country Park, Blackburn

There was a substantial Devon based presence at the British Schools' O Championships held on Sunday 18th November, near Blackburn, Lancashire, with 24 students from Torquay Boys' Grammar, 1 student from Torquay Girls' Grammar and 2 students from King's School Ottery. Congratulations to TBGS in taking 1st  place in the Year 10, 12 and 13 (Boys) categories (with a minimum of three runners counting.) 

There were also some particuarly notable individual successes: Tilda Wiklund, 1st (Year 12 Girls), Finn Sellar, 2nd (Year 8 Boys), James Robinson and Will Thomas, 4th and 5th respectively (Year 9 Boys), Tom Perry, 1st (Year 10 Boys), Jack Forrest, 4th (Year 11 Boys), Flurry Grierson, 1st (Year 12 Boys) with Reuben Vasey 3rd and Sam Johnson 6th, Ben Stevens, Year 13 Boys.  

Particular thanks should undoubtedly go to the support team for their time and hard work; all of the group leaders, volunteers and parent helpers.
