At Devon's Committee meeting on 12.10.16 the club agreed to adopt the British Orienteering 2016 policy on "Safeguarding, Image Taking and the Use of Images". For a copy of the policy see below.
If, for any reason, as a parent or carer of a junior member of the club you do not want your child being photographed at club events, and therefore potentially appearing on Devon’s website or Facebook page, please inform the club membership secretary:

The Club AGM on Sunday 18th September provided the opportunity for the Chairman to present the annual club awards to a number of very deserving recipients!

The Club secretary () maintains a file of risk assessments from recent events so that future organisers may adapt the assessment for their needs. In addition, by making the assessments routinely available the club is demonstrating good, safe, practice. Some selected examples are given below for information.
Please note that the risk assessment should contain a clear link to the Club Missing Person Procedure - see Haldon June 2018 as an example.

The club appreciates members volunteering to help put on events but unfortunately, for insurance purposes, all officials at orienteering events need to have completed an Event Safety Course by 1 January 2017. By ‘Officials’ the British Orienteering Federation means Organisers, Planners and Controllers.
Fifth League Table 2015-16
Devon League 2015-16 (After 5 Events)
The league has been updated following the recent Wheathill event on 10th April. As a result the leading positions have changed on three out of the six courses, showing how tight the competition is. Many congratulations to Tom Perry, M12 who cannot be caught on the Orange course (although note that certificates are awarded for first male and first female on each course.)
The final League event of the season is at Braunton Burrows on Sunday 19th June - an opportunity to run on some great orienteering terrain. Make sure you have the date in your calendar! See: Events
