Leeds 15th/16th November 2014
Well done to the Torquay Boys' Grammar School boys: 3rd /17 in the Large Secondary category, a very creditable performance given that the two teams above them were from mixed schools so could score in girls' as well as boys' classes. See the report below from Steve Perrelle, Team Manager.

Club Ranking 2014
The annual CompassSport Club Ranking table for 2014 shows an impressive result for DEVON. The club is now ranked 21st out of 83 clubs -an improvement of 21 places over the previous year "and a tantalising 3 points behind regional rivals BOK." (See CompassSport Issue 4 August 2014.)
Coaching and Information Leaflet
This leaflet has been put together by Tess Stone to provide a guide to the East Devon coaching sessions and provide information about the basics of orienteering.
The Yvette Baker Trophy is the major UK Junior competition and once again Devon's Juniors took part. And they won.
The race was dominated by BOK and DEVON. After counting 9 runners there was a tie. This meant the 10th runner had to be counted and the software showed BOK had won by 2 points. After the race manual calculations showed there was a software error. There was a difference of 2 points but it was DEVON on the right side with 980 points against 978 to BOK. Next was SO with 864 points. Tess Stone reports an excellent team effort and team spirit!

League Table (Final)
Congratulations to the twelve winners of the 2013/14 League! In particular, well done to two family groups: Isabelle and Francesca Perren Smart (Yellow and Orange courses) and to Sarah and Philip Tadd (Green course). Mention must also be made of Kim Boswijk, the only competitor to attend all seven events, and Meg Somers, second female in both the Orange and the Light Green in the same season!
The League events were well attended this year -let's see if we can improve on our previous best in 2014/15 for which details will follow shortly.
Several members of the club were victorious at Inny Foot recently.

The club is keen to encourage wider involvement in what we do. Two posters are attached: please send them on to others who may be interested and are new to the sport.
Well done to all the club members who mastered the complexities of the terrain at the JK in South Wales over Easter. A selection of photos and a brief report can be seen on the Club facebook page. Full results can be found at JK2014 results.
