Missing Competitor Procedures (9.5.18)
At Devon's Committee meeting on 12.10.16 the club agreed to adopt the British Orienteering 2016 policy on "Safeguarding, Image Taking and the Use of Images". For a copy of the policy see below.
If, for any reason, as a parent or carer of a junior member of the club you do not want your child being photographed at club events, and therefore potentially appearing on Devon’s website or Facebook page, please inform the club membership secretary:
Martin Yeo has written some notes for Planners using SI.
In addition, Alan Simpson provided general New Planner guidance and two documents about Purple Pen, a simple tool for planners which acts as an alternative to the more extensive planning and mapping tool, OCAD.
The Club secretary () maintains a file of risk assessments from recent events so that future organisers may adapt the assessment for their needs. In addition, by making the assessments routinely available the club is demonstrating good, safe, practice. Some selected examples are given below for information.
Please note that the risk assessment should contain a clear link to the Club Missing Person Procedure - see Haldon June 2018 as an example.
