The Permanent Orienteering Course at Haldon was opened in June 2019. You can now run all of the same courses using your smart phone to record -and compare -your time, your split times and your route.
All the courses have now been tested and Maprun can provide a suitably challenging additional approach to the use of this permanent course.

One Hour Score Events
This year the club offered some informal street O races - 1 hour score events. Using simple street maps based on OpenStreetMapping ( http://www.oomap.co.uk) with controls being street furniture such as lamp posts , hydrants, signs etc. A mapping example is here.
Results of the four events, held in Exmouth, Exeter, Kingsteignton and Honiton are now available.
Results for Devon Parkruns
Devon Orienteering Club is on the Parkrun list of clubs. So, if you go to any Parkrun, you can add the club to your profile and it will show up alongside your name on Parkrun results! Matt Atkins

The club appreciates members volunteering to help put on events but unfortunately, for insurance purposes, all officials at orienteering events need to have completed an Event Safety Course by 1 January 2017. By ‘Officials’ the British Orienteering Federation means Organisers, Planners and Controllers.
Thursday 11th February 2016
As you may know, a group of Club Members form the DEVON OC "SI Team". Their particular task is to run the computers at all events using Sportident controls and dibbers, ie most events. I am very grateful for their committed and enthusiastic support.
Occasionally we have a Team Workshop, and one such is scheduled for 19.30 on Thursday 11th February at my house near Ashburton.
