What a great weekend of orienteering -and weather! Many thanks to all of the main officials (Organiser, Planner, Controller and Mappers) and all of the other volunteer helpers. Please see below a selection of photographs of winners in the overall Caddihoe Chase -and well done to everyone who took part.
At our last visit to Fernworthy for one day of the Tamar Triple in 2014, we used another meadow overlooking the reservoir for Assembly and Finish. But we had to use forest road parking. It worked but was convoluted. On this occasion it was Mike Wimpenny the planner who suggested we might be able to use the two fields “at the end of the road.” Rather to our surprise SW Lakes Trust agreed, and I think you will agree that it worked very well for assembly/parking/overnight camping. Mind you the weather was certainly on our side after a flurry of rain early on Saturday.
We hope you savoured the mixture of White and Fight which this forest offers. Mike outlined his planning philosophy beforehand in his notes in the Final Details, which are still accessible on this website.
As always our thanks go to the small army of helpers from Devon OC, and to Chris Branford the controller from WIM.
Lost property – CRAFT navy blue rain jacket, and Garmin chest strap.
