Saturday 9th November, 11am - 1pm at Haldon Forest Park (and the subsequent two weeks that follow). Come and improve upon your orienteering skills. Although you don't need to register ahead of time, if you do let me know via then we can better manage numbers. Do remind your orienteering friends of the opportunity too.
Autumn Coaching: Join us for a set of three coaching activities at Haldon Forest Park. These activities are aimed at those who have some orienteering experience rather than complete novices, although that could be just a little or a whole lot more. Come along to as many sessions as you wish. Orienteers from other clubs are very welcome.
Location:Haldon Forest Park, just off the A38 south of Exeter, EX6 7XR, SX 884 849
Directions and Parking: Take the Exeter Racecourse turn from the A38 at the top of Haldon Hill and follow the brown signs to the Forest Park. Please use the main Haldon Forest Park carpark. You may wish to share transport.
Registration: The sessions start at 11 am. Please arrive and register in good time, as we will then be moving into the forest and it will likely be difficult to find us! Look for the orienteering signs. Finish time: The sessions will end at 1 pm
What we’ll be doing: This is a coaching activity not a race event. We’ll be using some dedicated controls as well as the permanent course markers to provide exercises for you that help you build and test your skills. Coaches will help select exercises for you that are at an appropriate level for your skills and help you analyse your performance, and provide feedback and advice.
Entry details: £3 per session per person. The sessions are independent, so come along to as many sessions as you wish. Although you don’t need to pre-register, it would help us if you gave us an indication ahead of time if you are intending to come (and any particular skills focus you’d like to see), so we can manage numbers and resources
Facilities:Toilets and Café at the Forest Park. First Aid available. Dogs:Welcome, under control at all times
