What does this mean?
Local events are usually low key and in the 'localised' area, ideal for newcomers to try the sport and Training events are non competitive and used for training and coaching, aimed at members of the club, but they can attract people from neighbouring clubs, and are often ideal for newcomers to try the sport. Regional events attract participants from around the local Region, National events are high quality competitions that will attract people from far away, Major events are Major Events such as a British Championships. Virtual events are where there are no physical controls being used. Your presence at a control is registered using an App on your mobile phone, normally the free MapRun6 App.

Follow the tourist signs to Cockington Court.
Event parking will be at the Cockington Cycle Hub Car Park – Payment needed.

Torbay Coast & Countryside Trust and Torbay Council welcome Devon Orienteering Club to Cockington Country Park for a bit of orienteering and socialising.
The area is rural, consisting of Cockington Court and some parkland.
Course Information
The Medium and Long courses have Road Crossing. Please take care crossing these roads.
It is ESSENTIAL that you report to Download ( in the tent) by Closure time – 14:30 – at the latest.
Short – approx 2k, with controls on obvious features. Suitable for newcomers.
Medium – approx 4k, with controls a little way off line features.
Long – approx 6k – for those with good navigation skills. (Subject to final controlling)

Entry Details
Limited – cash only - entry on the day is available, but subject to map availability.
Pre-Entry fees – Ages 25 and over - £10, under 25 £3.
Add £1 for non British-Orienteering member. Dibber hire £1

Facilities
Toilets are close to event start and finish. Bring your own picnic and socialise after your run. Cockington Court Café will be open.
Dog restrictions
The whole area and surrounding area is dog friendly.

Please be considerate towards other park users. These include walkers, dogs, horses snd riders and cyclist. Care should be taken when crossing any roads.
