What does this mean?

Local events are usually low key and in the 'localised' area, ideal for newcomers to try the sport and Training events are non competitive and used for training and coaching, aimed at members of the club, but they can attract people from neighbouring clubs, and are often ideal for newcomers to try the sport. Registration and Start times

These courses are generally suited to experienced Orienteers and as always if you are out training on the moor you need to take basic precautions for safety. For general details on maprun and safety issues see https://www.devonorienteering.co.uk/info/maprun

You may choose to meet up with others on the Sunday morning or do your own thing at a later time or date. Totally up to you. I will be there each Sunday from 0930 to 1130 in case there are any issues with map printing. We are suggesting a meet up at about 1000 as a guide. If it’s a nice sunny day you could of course end up afterwards at a local hostelry but I would never dream of saying that of course.

Map Run App details: All the basics can be found on the link shown above so if it is new to you follow the link for details. It is strongly recommended that you download the course onto your smartphone before arriving on the moor and that you now use Maprun 6 rather than older versions. Activities found in UK / Devon / Summer Dartmoor 23.
