To kick off the 2016 Tamar Triple weekend, Plymouth will play host to its first urban race on the evening of Saturday 28th May. The competition area will feature some of the main tourist sites of Plymouth: the historic streets around the Barbican, the sea shore and expanse of the Hoe, and thanks to permission from 29 Commando, access to the inside of the Citadel, the most impressive 17th century fortress in Britain.
Competitors will be treated to stunning views out to Plymouth Sound and across to the final day's event at Mount Edgcumbe, but they will need to concentrate as the shoreline contains multiple levels of terracing.
The event forms part of the UK Urban League and Southern England Orienteering League, and so the usual courses for urban events are on offer. Entries via Fabian4 open soon.
Courses will avoid the city centre and busy roads, making them suitable for all ages.
