What does this mean?
Local events are usually low key and in the 'localised' area, ideal for newcomers to try the sport and Training events are non competitive and used for training and coaching, aimed at members of the club, but they can attract people from neighbouring clubs, and are often ideal for newcomers to try the sport. Regional events attract participants from around the local Region, National events are high quality competitions that will attract people from far away, Major events are Major Events such as a British Championships. Virtual events are where there are no physical controls being used. Your presence at a control is registered using an App on your mobile phone, normally the free MapRun6 App.
Terrain type: Moorland & Forest
Overview
Remapped for this event, the area is mostly grazed open moorland on the south-western side of the River Walkham catchment. Bracken and patches of gorse abound, as do scattered trees and occasional copses. On the lower slopes the moorland and scattered trees merge into deciduous woodland. There are also numerous and complex land form features relating either to former RAF Harrowbeer or to derelict tin and copper workings. Hence the choice of a scale of 1:7500 for the new map.

All competitors to approach following O signs using minor road off A386 just SW of main roundabout in Yelverton. Parking on flat hardstanding areas of old airfield with around 600 m walk to registration/finish/download and another 600m to the start. Nearest postcode to turning is PL20 6HX or GR: SX519678.

Safety Notes
There will be unmanned minor road crossings between parking, registration/finish and the start. Families with younger children may park closer start to minimise crossings. There will be one “timed- out” manned road crossing on all courses.
