Watch this space!
As lockdown eases, we have been able to open up discussions with landowners and seek permission for events to take place. We have a list of several low key local style events we aim to hold each month through to the summer. We have to be patient and wait for permissions to be granted as everyone is still learning exactly what will be possible as restrictions ease. This is also the season for ground nesting birds, so opportunities for access are more limited.
So watch this space, and the website, for more news on the following events (see below).
Proposed dates and events
9th May 21 – Knightshayes (National Trust) – limited colour coded – permission still awaited
27th June 21 – Plymouth Central Park – colour coded – final permission awaited, although we are optimistic and hope to use the event as a launch (or fore-runner) for the refurbished permanent orienteering course in the park. The map has been updated by John Pearce.
25th July 21 – Killerton (National Trust) – colour coded – permission provisionally granted, subject to further details. John Pearce is currently updating the map. If anyone would like to take on either the planner or organiser role for this event please let Phil know on
15th August 21 – Mutters Moor 1 hour score (rescheduled from Jan) - permission granted
Following on from that dates and venues for a full series of Devon League events have been scheduled for autumn/winter and we are hopeful that by that time we can return to our more usual programme of orienteering.
