Tom Chesters

National Osteoporosis Society

It is now just over a year since the horrendous accident that took the lives of four young people when they were caught in an avalanche in Glencoe, Scotland, on 19th January 2013. Many people may remember that one of those killed was former Devon Orienteering Club member Tom Chesters, son of current club members Ruth and John, and brother of Ben, who runs for Sarum, but regularly attends Devon Orienteering Club events.

At the time of his death, Tom was in the final year of his Phd research into Osteoporosis. This year, in Tom's memory, Ben and one of Tom's best friends, Sam, will be running The Grizzly to raise money for the National Osteoporosis Society, which was supporting Tom's research.

Ben and Sam would greatly appreciate it if you were able to sponsor them, to remember Tom, and also to enable research which will help improve the lives of Osteoporosis sufferers to continue. Sam has set up a Justgiving page at:

Thank you for any support you feel able to offer.
