Vivienne Maxwell

Thanksgiving Service 26th November

Please see details here of the Service for Vivienne: Thanksgiving

Club members past and present will be very sad to hear that Vivienne Maxwell (W70) recently passed away. Vivienne was a long standing member of the club, following the move south which Nicholas and Vivienne made from MDOC. Amongst a range of ways of supporting the club Vivienne in particular contributed to the development of club clothing, including the distinctive club O tops. The photograph was taken in 2013, when Vivienne was helping at an event in Ashclyst Forest.

Nicholas has provided some personal comments below.

I am very sorry to say that Vivienne, my beloved wife of over 46 years died (on 6th October).  She died peacefully at home surrounded by myself and our four children.  We are grateful for the nearly three years she was given due to the wonders of chemotherapy following her bowel cancer diagnosis and surgery in September 2018.  We learnt a few weeks ago that the chemo treatment was no longer effective.  We always knew this date would come but sadly her deterioration moved faster than expected.

We will be holding a thanksgiving service for Vivienne to which all who knew Vivienne are invited. There will be a delay in organising this service as we want all our family to attend, and our latest and very recent 13th grandchild who lives in Switzerland first needs a UK passport.  I will provide the date and more details in the near future.
